hite water rafting on the Aude! The river is dammed above Axat and in the summer the water is releaseed for about an hour each day. This means that you can enjoy a whole host of water sports as the snow-fed waters cascade down the mountains. Particularly popular is the white water rafting, suitable for children over 11 but there is also hydrospeed, canyoning, and canoeing, the latter being a relaxed 3 hour trip down the Aude from Couiza to Limoux. This is made perfection by taking a picnic and featsing on the banks of the Aude
