e put the pool in for the use of our guests in 2007. It is a 10m kidney-shaped pool, 1.1m deep at the shallow end and 1.7m at the deep end, with ledges at the shallow end to bask on during hot summer days. We have solar matting attached and aim to maintain the water temperature at about 29°C though this depends on how hot and plentiful the sunshine is. It is chlorinated and built to public pool standards. Most importantly the pool area is secured and enclosed.

ith the pool there is an extensive sun bathing area with sun loungers, tables and chairs, we also have a small pool room with changing area, shower, toilet and wash basin.

here are also excellent public pools at Limoux (indoor), Quillan and Alet-les-Bains, the last one being especially good as it is fed by spring waters and so is low in chlorine (and refreshingly cold). There are also a thermal pool at Rennes-les-Bains which regularly hosts aquarobics sessions.

e also have a two beautiful swimming lakes near us, at Puivert and Arques, both of which also boast their own castles and so are excellent choices for a day out
