athar Castles and other historic monuments are plentiful here. Fa itself is based on a Roman village ('Fa' means Little Temple), and has its own Visigoth tower which you can walk to from the gite. Rennes-le-Chateau is worth a visit (only 15 minutes away) surrounded in mystery with tales of lost treasure. Up the valley the Chateau at Puivert has an excellent museum, and, at virtually every turn, you can find a monument or castle.
